Thulani claims KwaThema’s best dresser title

KwaThema - Thulane Mulausi (17), from KwaThema, might be the next top stylist in the country if he follows his dreams.

Mulausi, who is currently studying at Jameson High School, became a fashion stylist at the age of 13.

“To me, fashion is an art form which I use to express myself,” he says.

The young talent was inspired by Sean Stylist, a well known fashion stylist from KwaThema, who introduced him to an urban style of dressing.

Mulausi says he was part of the YFM Cruise Tour, in December, to raise funds for the disadvantaged, and was nominated as the Best Dressed Cruise Dresser.

In April he was selected as the Best Male Dresser at a Badichillamo event, at Bahama’s pub, in KwaThema.

Mulausi explains that he has styled musician Joe Nina for the Metro Awards and rapper Chisaboy for the South African Metro Awards, in 2013.

“Urban, street, formal, international culture and Arabic are some of the styles I specialise in,” he says.

He want to study fashion design and social development, and hopes to someday own his own fashion design school.
