KwaThema resident gives to others on his birthday

KwaThema - Vusi Nhlangothi (40) celebrated his birthday on Monday with orphans and vulnerable children.

Nhlangothi put a smile on the faces of 40 children from the New Image Rover Crew in Daggafontein and KwaThema.

The KwaThema resident says he wanted to share his special day with disadvantaged children who were born in June.

The celebrations started at the New Image Rover Crew offices in KwaThema where children received presents from Nhlangothi before going out for lunch.

Nhlangothi, who is also a founder of New Image, says he wanted to make a difference in the lives of children from poor backgrounds.

“Some of these children have never celebrated their birthdays and have never experienced the feeling of receiving a present,”he says.

Nhlangothi also hopes to one day share his birthday with albinos in the township as a way of showing them love and care.

One of the children who celebrated with Nhlangothi is eight-year-old Mbali Ngcobo from KwaThema.

Mbali, whose birthday is on June 18, says she is happy to have celebrated the day with Nhlangothi.

She thanked him for the hat, gloves and scarf she received as a gift.

” I have never received a present before, and it brings my confidence back to know that there are people who care for the orphans and vulnerable children in Kwatsaduza,” says Mbali.
