Leaking pipe floods street
KwaThema - Thousands of litres of water are being wasted from a leaking underground pipe in Manana Street.
The leak is so severe that it regularly floods the street.
Resident Zephanie Dludlu (68) says the pipe has been a problem for six years and has been reported numerous times.
Dludlu says the water, which he claims smells of sewage, dams near the front of his house and he fears for his health.
Another resident William Motloung (74) says municipal workers attended to a nearby storm water drain about two weeks ago, but did not fix the pipe.
Ward 79 councillor Ivy Nkosi says she is aware of the matter and confirmed it has been a problem for a number of years.
Nkosi says she has reported the matter to the Department of Roads and Transport and is awaiting a report.
