New school uniform for 60 learners

KwaThema - About 60 learners from local primary schools received brand new school uniforms from Trinity church

The church, in partnership with Indian Steel, Lesedi FM and KLT Company, donated the uniforms to children attending Theo Twala Primary School, Fred Habedi Primary School and Khangezile Primary School last Thursday.

According to Bishop Timothy Tshabangu, the donation forms part of a church project, which aims to give back to the community.

“We want to plant a seed of loving education in the young minds of the Kwatsaduza community,” says Tshabangu.

He explains that the church saw the need to donate to the learners to show they care and to educate learners about the importance of education.

Speaking on behalf of Theo Twala Primary School, Pat Modiba, thanked the church for the donation.

She revealed that some of the learners are from disadvantaged families.

“We also notice that some of the learners come to school barefoot and are not wearing anything warm despite the dropping temperatures,” says Modiba.

She adds the donation couldn’t have come at a better time, because during winter the children will be exposed to freezing weather on their way to and from school.

Amos Mtumtum (10), a Grade Three learner at Khangezile Primary School, is one of the recipients of a new school uniform.

Filled with joy, Amos thanked the church for the donation and promised to always keep it clean.
