Gospel star comes home

Gospel star Banele Mahlangu is the talk of the township.

Mahlangu, who was born and raised in KwaThema, and who won the RnB Gospel Best Newcomer award at the SABC’s Crown Gospel Awards in 2012, recently returned to the area after a short absence.

Mahlangu explains he was recently performing at the Word of Truth Church in KwaThema where he received testimonies from people about his new standard of music.

He adds his song titled “Ngiyabonga uJesu” is still well received by his audience from KwaThema.

According to Mahlangu, his talent was more developed in 2005 when he was a student at the University of Cape Town.

“My main goal is to worship God and tell people about the love of Christ,” he says.

Mahlangu adds his singing began at Mzomsha Primary School were he used to lead the school choir.

He explains he has been involved in motivational talks in Kwatsaduza where he encouraged the youth to grow and expand their knowledge.
