SAPS award long service members

Members are proud to wear their blue uniform.

Springs SAPS Cluster rewarded members for their loyal service at the Daggaftonein Police Station last Thursday.

Members from Devon, Nigel, Dunnottar, Springs, KwaThema and Duduza police stations received either loyal service medals, deeds of commission (to those who have been appointed as first time officers) or public service certificates.

Colonel Sam Kilian, visible policing head for Springs, handed over medals to 133 police members.

He said the members who received medals achieved another milestone in their police careers and emphasised that it is an honour to wear a blue uniform.

“The purpose of being a police member is to prevent crime and protect the community to the best of your ability,” he added.

Colonel Karen Stoltz, from the Springs police station, handed over deeds of commission certificates to 25 members.

She also commended the 28 public service members for their 20 years loyal service.

Jackie Ramasoele from KwaThema was the only public service member (civilian worker) who received a 30 years loyal service certificate.

Stoltz said honouring the members with medals and certificates is only a small token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication.

“We hope these members will always be proud to wear the blue uniform and to service the community with pride and honour,” she concluded.
