Dance Group in Kwathema

Dance for Change formally known as KwaThema Dance School has reopened in Overline Section, KwaThema, at the Soup Kitchen Hall.

Founder of the group Wandile Mkhombo says the name change came about before reopening the group when their were a number of contestants from all over Kwatsaduza, not just from KwaThema.

Mkhombo explains the group had to close down due to lack of sponsorship in 2013.

He says he decided to reopen the group when he saw a need for ballroom and Latin American dancing in Kwatsaduza.

Mkhombo says the group is not just for professional dancers or any particular age group but for all ages in Kwatsaduza.

According to Mkhombo, dance is a social platform for anyone to participate in.

Member of the group, Ntlakanipho Ntlhapho says last year he attained first position in the U/16 Youth Novice Gauteng Championships.

Another member William Hoga says last year he was in France for the World Dance Championships.

The practices for the dance classes are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4pm to 6pm.

Anyone who wishes to register can contact Wandile Mkhombo on 072 973 9643.
