Members from Equal Education came in numbers to raise awareness about the importance of School Governing Bodies, at Kenneth Masikela Secondary School on Saturday.

Coordinator from Equal Education, Kholwane Simelane says parents need to participate in the education of their children on an everyday basis.

He says equal education is about helping the structure and functionality of SGBs in township schools.

Simelane adds that schools from Tsakane, Lanagaville and KwaThema already have equal education facilitators who have volunteered to see a change in their schools

Principal from Izimisile Primary School Kelvin Noge says it is sad in this day and age that there is still a gap between township schools and model c schools.

Noge adds it is a constitutional right to have equal education.

He explains SGBs are supposed to work hand in hand with the department of education to improve the quality of education of learners.

Noge adds parents who have influence in their companies can help with corporate social investment funds towards the school.

In his conclusion he says schools from Kwatsdaduza need to start investing in resources.
