Lesego joins SAFA Soccer Academy

Lesego Masedi Sibano from Mzumbe is officially one of the players in the SAFA Girls Soccer Academy.

Lesego currently plays for Ayoba-Yo Youth Soccer Academy’s U/15 team.

She has been training with the SAFA Academy at the High Performance Centre since October.

Lesego was selected to join the team during the games that were held in Germiston in September.

Before joining the national academy team Lesego played in the district team, then the provincial games and she is now expected to show off her soccer skills in the field when playing for the national girls’ soccer academy.

Her coach Innocent Mayoyo described Lesego as an excellent striker and also said that he has no doubt that Lesego will one day take ladies soccer to higher levels.

“To confirm her love and talent in soccer, Lesego has been the only girl in the past four years in the Ayoba soccer development programme,” said Mayoyo.

He concluded by promising the residents of Kwatsaduza that the local soccer development teams will strive to ensure that they produce the best soccer players who will represent the country in the future.
