Kwatsaduza Athletics Club members from Soweto Marathon

A group of Kwatsaduza athletes from the Kwatsaduza Athletics Club took part in the Soweto Marathon on Sunday.

The club had all age groups represented in the competition.

Four of the club members managed to be in the top 20 in a running and a walking race.

Lethabo Morapedi ran 10km and finished within 38 minutes, Slindile Sabasaba also participated in the 10km run and finished the race in 44 minutes. Slindile managed to get into the top three junior runners.

Thabo Moyo and Sfiso Dlomo finished their walk race after one hour.

Club’s chairman, Sparks Moagi said he is proud of the achievement by the club’s athletes.

He said another group of his athletes came home with victory on Saturday after taking part in the Track and Field race held in Krugersdorp.

They ran 80m, 100m, 200m, 600m, 800m, and 1500m.

Another group is expected to run in November 15 in Germiston while the six athletes will compete in the SA Championships in Pretoria from November 13 until November 15.

Moagi added that the club is looking for new athletes between seven and 19 years old to join the club.

The interested athletes have until the end of February to register with the club.
