Prayer for Grade 12 learnersPraying for matric exams

The Grade 12 learners in the country sat down for the start of their final exams on Monday, starting with an English paper.

Matric students in Kwatsaduza received prayers on Friday before they started their exams on Monday.

The prayer day was organised by Tsakane crime prevention youth desk with pastors and motivational speakers giving a word of encouragement to the learners who gathered at Umndeni Fellowship Christian Centre in Tsakane.

Explaining the purpose of the prayers, youth desk chairman Veronica Matsepe said the day was aimed at praying for a peaceful examination period and giving encouragement to the learners.

She then encouraged the learners to pray before going into an exam room, adding that they need not fear, for God will guide and lead them to their brighter future.

Sharing the words of encouragement with her peers, a matric student at Reshogofaditswe Secondary School in Tsakane, Lerato Moloi, reminded them that examination is the time to show all that they have learnt throughout the year.

She encouraged them to stay focused until the last day of their examinations and ignore the challenges that they are faced with at home.

“The journey to your better future starts with passing your matric exams,” said motivational speaker Sphumi Mabena.

Mabena challenged the learners to study hard without being pushed to do so.

“It has been 10 months of learning and teaching and now is the season to show the country your knowledge by answering the exam questions correctly,” said Mabena.

He also encouraged the learners to forget about the difficult situations that they are experiencing and pay their full attention to their studies.

“Hard work always pays, put your eyes on the prize that you will get after studying hard,” Mabena concluded.
