School gets new science lab equipment

Learners at Sibonisiwe Primary School in Duduza will have a bright science future after the donation.

Having sacrificed their last savings to build a science laboratory for their children, parents of Sibonisiwe Primary School learners in Duduza had no more money to buy the highly-priced science lab equipment.

Coca-Cola Shanduka Beverages (CCSB) came to their rescue and ensured a brighter future for the learners in that school.

The company donated the science lab equipment worth R50 000 to the school on Friday.

Speaking at the handover, CCSB human resources director, Carmen Lawrence, said the company’s commitment to education is aimed at bridging the gap between the rich and the poor in order to ensure great results for all learners in the country.

Learners also got the opportunity to see a practical demonstration by the CCSB scientists. Deputy principal Terrence Sikhosana thanked the CCSB for the donation.

He said, the best thing about the school’s lab is that it will be the first to accommodate all primary school learners in Duduza for science practicals and demonstrations.
