Hijacking victims escape

The two hijacking victims escaped from the hijackers at Modder East on Monday.

Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora says the victims were busy loading scrap metal into the bakkie when the four suspects attacked them.

He says one of the victims managed to escape from the scene while the driver of the bakkie was forced inside the bakkie by the suspects who drove away with him.

“They drove the bakkie to Gugulethu/Everest informal settlement where the victim managed to run away,” says Ramphora.

He says a case of hijacking has been opened and the police are still looking for the suspects.

If you know where the suspects are, you should contact the Springs police on 011 365 5700/ 19/20.
