Tavern owner assaulted inside her tavern

The says the suspect allegdly had a quarrel with the victim's husband who claimed that the suspect was being rude to him.

A tavern owner was assaulted by one of the customers inside the tavern.

Captain Johannes Ramphora of the Springs police says the suspect allegedly had a quarrel with the victim’s husband who claimed that the suspect was being rude to him.

He says the husband tried to chase the suspect, who refused to leave the tavern, away.

“The woman then joined in the argument and also ordered the suspect to leave,” says Ramphora.

He says, according to the statement given to the police, the suspect pushed the woman down and then ran away.

No arrest has been made and the police asks for the community’s assistance in arresting the suspect.
