A must read book

Book: Fall out Author: Sadie Jones Reviewed by: Phumza Ntuthuka Rating: Excellent

Sadie Jones’s intense novel is set in London’s theatre scene in the 1970s, and the real drama occurs offstage.

The book is about Luke Kanowski, a young playwright who makes his way to London to fulfil his dream.

He leaves behind his Northern East town and his parents.

He was focused on chasing his dreams, and does not mind leaving his mother who was in a mental hospital and his alcoholic father behind.

When he arrives in London, Luke meets with an aspiring producer, Paul and Leigh and he shares a flat with them.

Their friendship grows and they became professionally tight until they set up their own radical theatre.

Things became complicated when Luke becomes obsessed with Nina Jacobs, a beautiful actress who is married to Tony Moore, an abusive and possibly gay producer.

Luke is willing to pursue Nina even if he loses everything he has, including risking his promising career.

This is a good book to read, it talks about love, creative ambition and betrayal.
