Sanco launches a new branch

Sanco launched a new branch in KwaThema

After a long meeting held by the South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) members including the Regional Sanco leadership behind closed doors, ward 77 Sanco was officially launched on Sunday.

The launch was held at ward 77 with more than 100 Sanco members at the event to witness the launch and the election of the new Sanco leadership in their ward.

Speaking on behalf of the 15 newly elected leaders, Wilson Busakwe said, Sanco in their ward will mainly focus on dealing with service delivery and fighting against crime.

“We will work with the police to fight against crime because we can no longer tolerate the criminal activities happening in our community,” said Busakwe.

He said Sanco is a community-based structure that is aimed at listening to the community about the challenges that they are faced with and serving as the community’s voice.

Busakwe expressed that since Sanco has been launched in ward 77, no-one will call meetings in the name of Sanco without consulting with the ward’s Sanco leadership.

Robertson Masuku was elected as the chairman, Wilson Busakwe (deputy chairman), Nicholas Mbatha (secretary) and some of the additional members are Thandi Sibeko and Flora Mini.
