Karate revived in Tsakane

Keeping fit, healthy and self-disciplined

Kata and self-defence are some of the techniques that are used to train members of Budoka Shotokan Karate in self-discipline.

The club consists of members who are residents of Tsakane aged from five years old and above.

The semi-contact karate club is headed by Sensei Mandla Mnisi who has more than 15 years experience in the sport, and now operates from Tsakane Primary School.

Mandla said the club is an affiliate of the Japan Karate Association.

The young beginners are training under the guidance of Mandla who is assisted by Senpai Sipho Thabethe and Senpai Gabriel Ramoletla.

Their hard work is in preparation for the grading competition, and their first competition in Port Elizabeth, both taking place later this year.
