The N17 Hospital appeals to the public to support its annual national blanket drive.
To ensure that the blankets get to the beneficiaries by winter, when they are most needed, the blanket drive will run until June 30.
As usual, each Netcare facility will run its own blanket drive and decide on the worthy cause or causes they will support with the blankets collected.
Leana Haywood, hospital spokesman, says last year’s collection was a huge success, with 1 684 blankets collected nationally and distributed to worthy, disadvantaged recipients.
Options on how to contribute are to dig up unused blankets from home, also welcome are those that are not in good condition for animal shelters or to visit a shop who have bargain blankets.
