An initiative for learners by learners

When RCL members from KwaThema Skills School realised that some of their school mates were in need of school uniforms, they devised a fundraising plan.

The first 14 of the 55 selected learners from Grade Five to Grade Nine received their uniforms on Tuesday which included shoes, shirts, socks, a tie, jersey and grey pants.

The fundraising campaign started at the beginning of the year, through civvies days and cash donations collected from teachers and SGB members.

The uniform donations are in line with the school’s uniform drive, which encourages learners to wear their uniform with pride, and ignore stigmas in the community, associated with the school.
