Roots reggae visual concert on big screen to take place on Saturday at Kwa-Thema Hall

Old-school reggae will be played on the big screen while current and upcoming artists will perform live.

Kwa-Thema – Reggae is Bigger than Music will be hosting a roots reggae visual music concert on big screen on Saturday at the Kwa-Thema Hall.

The concert is to celebrate the coronation of the Rastafarians King of Kings Haile Selassie who was the Emperor of Ethiopia from 1930.

Ras Daddah Ayoba, the reggae music promoter of the movement said, “This is to bring the Rasta community together to celebrate Jah who was put in power on November 2, 1930.”

Ras Daddah Ayoba said this will give people a chance to interact with each other while enjoying the music on the big screen and also other live performances.

One of the founders of the movement, Selektah Jah Yut SA said though their religion requires people to wear in their royal regalia, everyone is welcome and they can wear whatever they are comfortable in.

Selektah said all they need from those who’ll be attending is respect and good manners.

Hawkers are allowed to have stalls on the day free of charge however, alcohol isn’t allowed to be sold.

Tickets will be sold at the gate from 12:00 and the event will start at 15:00 until 14:00 on Sunday.
