EMPD educates on road safety

Children were taught the colours of traffic lights and what they mean.

Tsakani – The EMPD Social Crime Prevention Unit officers conducted a child-in-traffic preparation programme on Monday at the Rosemary Day Care in Tsakani.

The focus was on the traffic signal (robot) and how to read and understand the meaning of each colour.

It has come to the department’s attention that many people still struggle to read and understand how to interpret the colours and what action to implement.

Starting with young children, the EMPD saw a need to address the matter to help influence human behaviour in curbing pedestrian motor vehicle accidents in the CoE.

Children listened to a fun-filled presentation incorporating singing and dancing to capture their attention.

The EMPD has prioritised teaching those of a tender age about road safety and children in traffic throughout the city.
