In loving memory of Ezekiel ‘Sakie’ Kekana

He was a member of parliament in the Standing Committee in Public Accounts (SCOPA).

Deceased: Ezekiel ‘Sakie’ Kekana was born on November 9, 1961, and died on September 25 after a short illness.

Education: He started his educational journey at Thakgalang Lower Primary School and proceeded to Mmuso Higher Primary School and completed his matric at Esibonelwesihle Secondary School.

He furthered his education in public policy and African studies at the University of Johannesburg. He also holds qualifications in construction management at NMMU (Nelson Mandela University, formerly known as Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University).

He completed courses in project management for public managers at NMMU, property development at NMMU, managing integrated development for service delivery from the University of Johannesburg, provincial and local government law from UNISA, advanced governance and public leadership at Wits, and human resource management from Damelin.

Community: He was the ANC chairperson of the Nigel branch, the ANC chairperson of the East Rand region, and the chairperson of Mondi Foundation.

He was a member of parliament in the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA).

The memorial service will be held at Duduza Multipurpose Centre from 9-12:00 and the funeral cortège will leave for Enokuthula cemetery.
