Metro confirms water supply restored in Tsakani

“There is now sufficient supply from the system and all we want to do now is ensure that water flows into the home of residents."

Tsakani – Water supply in the area has been restored to most parts of the township, however, high lying areas are not receiving water yet.
Technicians are unable to access and start pumping water at the Xhosa reservoir due to protestation.
This follows weeks of challenges with Rand Water’s Mapleton system. According to the City of Ekurhuleni, the system seems to have stabilised and water is pumping to various parts of the township, including the Pholosong Hospital.
Metro spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said the metro understands the frustrations of residents after having gone for weeks without having water due to this Rand Water problem.
