School online admissions application closing date extended

The Gauteng Department of Education announced an extension on the closing date of the 2024 online admissions application period for grades one and eight to July 21.
The 2024 online admissions application period was initially scheduled to close on July 14. It has been noticed that some parents prefer submitting their documents at school.
As such, this extension will give them an opportunity to submit documents after the school recess on July 17. Parents will be allowed to upload or submit documents until July 28.
The education department said that the online admissions system has successfully processed over 400 000 applications since the start of the application on June 15.
As of June 22, a total of 408 714 applications were processed. This amounts to 176 975 Grade One applications and 231 739 Grade Eight applications.
Despite this extension, parents and guardians are still encouraged to apply by visiting www.gdeadmissions.gov.za and registering to proceed with the application process.
