Stats reveal increase in crime in Tsakani

The Tsakani Police Station is featured on three top 30 station lists.

Tsakani – The fourth quarter crime statistics from January to March this year, revealed an increase in crimes reported to the Tsakani Police Station.
The stats were released by the Minister of Police, Bheki Cele during a media briefing held in Pretoria on Friday.
In the assault with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm category, 187 cases were reported in Tsakani. This is an increase of 64 cases compared to the same period last year.

This saw the station seated at position 13 in the list of top 30 stations in this category.
In the carjacking category, 55 cases were reported, which is 22 more cases than last year’s 33 cases.
There were 118 contact crimes reported to Tsakani police, which is an increase of 48. The station occupies position 30 in this category in the top 30 stations list.
In the malicious damage to property category, 118 cases were reported. Tsakani SAPS occupies position 29 in the top 30 stations list for this category.
