Tsakani man arrested for reporting false hijacking case

It is alleged the man reported a case of hijacking at the Duduza Police Station, which he claimed took place on Sunday in Tsakani Ext 19.

Tsakani –Police have arrested a 29-year-old man for reporting a false case.
It is alleged the man reported a case of hijacking at the Duduza Police Station, which he claimed took place on Sunday in Tsakani Ext 19.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sergeant Lerato Mngomezulu explained that as per procedure a criminal case can be opened at any police station but will be transferred to the station where the crime was committed.

“The investigating officers handling the case asked for the car registration documents. They discovered that the car belonged to the man’s brother who revealed that the car was not hijacked.
“The suspect was arrested and will appear before the Tsakani Magistrate’s Court soon,” she explained.
