Entrepreneurial workshop for the unemployed youth

The programme is aimed at creating a conducive environment for young entrepreneurs to access relevant entrepreneurship skills, knowledge, values and attitudes for their businesses.

Duduza – Simunye Community Project and Bua Re Utuse Youth Development collaborated to host an entrepreneurship workshop on March 22 at the Highpoint Christian Community Centre.
The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) facilitated the workshop and covered topics such as idea generation, survivalist, start-up, early development and growth, and expansion.
The programme is aimed at creating a conducive environment for young entrepreneurs to access relevant entrepreneurship skills, knowledge, values and attitudes for their businesses.
Participants were encouraged to learn more and pursue entrepreneurship.

Simunye Community Project treasurer Sabelo Jwara said it was important for the youth to start businesses.
Facilitator Mandisa Makutla explained the importance of training and mentorship from NYDA.
“The programme offers entrepreneurship training that responds appropriately and adequately to the market and business needs of young people, which is why we encourage young people to undergo such training,” she said.
She also provided education on the different thresholds and requirements needed for businesses to receive funding from the institution.
