School gets a ‘lift’ from sponsors

Radio 2000’s breakfast show team brought its #2MillionGangGangCares initiative to the school.

Kwa-Thema – Qedusizi Primary School received much-needed donations from various sponsors on Monday morning.
This was after Radio 2000’s breakfast show team brought its #2MillionGangGangCares initiative to the school.
Through the initiative, the school received stationery, office supplies, Worx pads, waste bins, rakes, spades, digging forks, school shoes, vegetable seedlings, cleaning products and tracksuits.
One company has also volunteered to repaint the school premises.
Co-host of the Take-Off breakfast show Nala Dagada said the initiative is about uplifting communities.

The #2MillionGangGangCares initiative fever hit Qedusizi Primary School.

“We appreciate all our listeners on Radio 2000 and we continue to want to build our communities because we understand that together we can make a difference.
“We had these incredible sponsors who have come on board because they would like to see a change in our local schools.
“At the end of the day, it is really up to us.
“If we are to build a future generation of children who are inspired, we need to inspire them first,” said Dagada.

She added it was important for local businesses to do their bit in helping out within the community.
“We need to show the learners that we care about them by developing the basic amenities they use regularly, and schools are that place.
“Our schools need to be a place of cleanness, creativity and growth,” she said.
The school’s principal, George Ngoma, expressed his gratitude.
“We are proud to have received so much-needed supplies from various people with the help of the broadcast team.
“It is fascinating to find out that people are willing to help when you shout.
“We hope the initiative will open doors for other donors to come on board and support our school,” he said.
To be part of the initiative, you can follow Radio 2000 on their various social media platforms or send a WhatsApp message to 060 584 2250 or contact the school on 011 736 5303.
