Pholosong Hospital offers mammograms

Tsakani – Pholosong Hospital has resumed its mammogram screening initiative and in addition, has opened an in-house breast unit.
This is aimed at assisting patients to access services they would normally access at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital.

Pholosong Hospital acting CEO Dr Nthabiseng Makgana said this is a special development for the hospital, especially because it is Women’s Month.
“With this new clinic, more women will be able to access breast cancer services right on their doorstep, cutting the waiting time for making a diagnosis and initiating a treatment plan,” she said.

The breast unit will be fully operational in October at the out-patient department and is in partnership with Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital’s Surgical Breast Unit and the Pink Drive.
