Municipal services may be interrupted by protests

Turnaround times to attend to service requests and providing other services such as waste collection, power and water outages in the City of Ekurhuleni may be delayed due to sporadic riots witnessed in the region.
“Some City officials might also have been unable to get to work due to road blockages in different areas. Residents who have not had their waste collected are encouraged to keep their waste bins outside as the City is working to clear the backlog,” said City spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.

“Furthermore, residents are urged not to vandalise any property or infrastructure whether private or public.
“Vandalism of infrastructure is a setback to the quest to develop communities and provide services necessary to build an environment for economic prosperity,”
