Asser Maloko School guard stabbed during robbery

“They fled the scene on foot with his cellphone,” said Manaka.

Duduza – A night watchman was attacked and stabbed during an attempted burglary at the Asser Maloka Secondary School on Monday evening.
It is alleged the guard, Simon Shezi, was on duty when he noticed two men jumping over the school security fence into the guardroom.
Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka said the duo pulled out knives and demanded his cellphone, and also broke the CCTV camera in the guardroom.

“The guard fought them and in the process they stabbed him several times in the upper body. They fled the scene on foot with his cellphone,” said Manaka.
He added police were called and Shezi was rushed to the Pholosong Hospital, where he is in a stable condition.
Police are investigating a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
