Kwatsaduza – The fifth edition of the Tsakani Festive Games has been cancelled due to Covid-19.

Tournament organiser Votile Jack said, “With the ongoing increase in the number of Covid-19 cases, the organisers had to respond accordingly.

“In addition, the current strict restrictions on all sporting events made it impossible for them to manoeuvre and above all, the importance of safety for all sports fanatics.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, a painful decision has to be made; hence, we are releasing this communique regarding our adaptation on this pandemic by cancelling the tournament.”
He expressed his gratitude for the support the community has been giving them.
“We really appreciate the support the community has given us all these years.
“Let’s take precautions in dealing with this pandemic by following all the given provisions by our government in trying to save lives.

“Eventually, the pandemic will be defeated through unity.
“We are calling for more people to assist us next year as the major objective is to advance local talent, facilitate the games in a dignified manner and also boost the local economy as small businesses and individuals use the platform given to sell their goods to make ends meet,” said Jack.
