Local artist releases new music

Musician Kay Kintero, real name Kgopotso Noge (23), released his EP last Friday titled Kgomotso, after his sister who died last year.
The EP is available on all major digital streaming platforms.
“You know, as a child I’d spend my time after school at Selcourt Primary School and later at Springs Boys’ High School teaching myself how to play, write and produce music.
“This is the culmination of years of dreaming and working every day towards my goal.
“This project means so much to me because it’s really what my sister would’ve wanted for me.
“She was one of my biggest fans and that is why I have named this body of work after her,” said Noge.

He explained how his music reflects every aspect of his personality as it’s a mixture of the modern sounds of hip-hop and R&B combined with the plethora of African music he grew up with, such as kwaito and Afrobeats.
“I really think South Africa will love it as much as I loved making it,” said Noge.
As a child, Noge grew up spending all his afternoons after school and weekends in Vergenoeg, Kwa-Thema, where his grandparents reside, to later make his way to Sharon Park to his parents’ in the evening.
Having experienced both contrasting worlds so equally, he embraces both sides of his childhood, and it shows through his music.
