Scammers targeting unemployed youth

Kwa-Thema – Police are warning residents about a group of men making the rounds in Kwa-Thema, targeting unemployed youth.

Kwa-Thema police spokesperson Sgt Media Khoza said the well-dressed men target young people, especially those who like to hang around shops, and unsuspecting elderly people.

“They lure them by promising them a quick money fix, and take them to open bank accounts where they deposit large amounts of money and withdraw it through their accounts in exchange for small funds or none,”
she said.
Police are calling on anyone who may have information to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10 111 or make use of the MySAPS app
