Man hijacked on N12 Etwatwa off-ramp

Another driver has been hijacked on the N12 Etwatwa off-ramp.
The latest incident took place around 4pm on Tuesday when the victim, travelling in a white Isuzu bakkie, was asked by two men if he could pick up a fridge for them in Etwatwa.
The driver agreed and the two men paid him R500.

While driving over the N12 highway towards Etwatwa, one of the passengers asked the victim to stop because he wanted to relieve himself.
A blue Toyota Corolla then stopped in front of the bakkie and four men jumped out and accosted the victim.
They forced the driver’s door opened and threatened the victim.

His hands and legs were tied together and he was bundled into the boot of the Corolla. They drove off with the victim and dropped him off in the Welgedacht smallholdings area.
In addition to the bakkie, the hijackers also took R1 300 and a cellphone valued at R7 000.
