Soccer legends to change behaviour of young boys

“We will be teaching them ways to deal with anger in a responsible manner, dangers of substance abuse and gangsterism.”

KwaThema – South African Masters and Legends Football Association is stepping forward to voice their support against gender-based violence and the global scourge of Covid-19.

The group will be hosting a workshop to educate young soccer players under 15 and their sports facilitators about the two issues affecting the country.

The association’s Ekurhuleni chairperson, John “Bull” Sibeko, who is the former Witbank Aces player, says the workshop will be hosted from March 28 at KwaThema Sports Complex.

“We could no longer turn a blind eye when we can clearly see that there is a challenge in our community that needs men to help young men to change their behaviour.

“We will be teaching them ways to deal with anger in a responsible manner, dangers of substance abuse and gangsterism.”

Sibeko adds, “Because of the recent scourge of Covid-19, we will also use the platform to teach the young players the importance of hygiene and how to protect themselves from contracting it.
