“We have been playing in the boys’ league, but we now feel that we are ready to participate in an all-women’s league.

“The challenge we are facing at the moment is a shortage of kits, exercising equipment and funds, but I am happy with how the team has been developing and showing growth,” says Manana.

Teams work on their tactics and prepare for upcoming league games.

Young Achievers won the game by five points to three.

Team coach Sifiso Khumalo says fitness is still a challenge, but the team is showing major improvement.

“The team played well, we just need to work on our fitness level, but there’s growth which shows that everyone on the team is working hard,” says Khumalo.
