Tsakane – A 22-year-old man was arrested for the murder of his 69-year-old grandmother in Tsakane on Monday evening.
This comes after a relative who was visiting the family discovered the decomposed body.

The suspect was staying full-time with the deceased.
Tsakane police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu says the body was found stuffed inside a recycling bin in the victim’s bedroom.

“We suspect the elderly woman was killed days ago before the discovery due to the state of her body.
“Neighbours allege they had not seen the elderly woman for weeks and the grandson alleged she was visiting relatives.
“The suspect will appear before the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court soon,” she adds.
