Duduza man hijacked

“They took the R6 500 he had and ordered that he transfer money to them, but when they realised he would have to register them as beneficiaries they stopped."

Duduza – Police are investigating a case of hijacking after one of their residents was hijacked of their white double-cab bakkie on Monday morning.

It is alleged the driver was stopped by another car and he thought there was something wrong with the trailer he was pulling.

Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka says four men got out off their bakkie and before the driver knew it they forced him into the back of his bakkie.

“They then drove him to an undisclosed location 15 minutes away from where they were and demanded his valuables and money.

“They took the R6 500 he had and ordered that he transfer money to them, but when they realised he would have to register them as beneficiaries they stopped.

“They drove him to Wattville, where they dropped him off and left him,” he explains.

Manaka urges residents to be on the lookout for the suspects and not stop for anyone they don’t know.
