“We started the initiative on October 27 as we were raising awareness about breast cancer, and noted that we as churches do not do enough to uplift our people, and educate them about social ills.

“We also want to encourage them to participate in such events or platforms,” says Motsepe.

She adds that having awareness, and providing a platform to discuss challenges faced by the society, is a step towards providing a positive environment for the children.

“We need to create a safe environment for our children because they are the leaders of tomorrow.

The church will be hosting 16 Days of activism against gender-based violence. For the dates check their social media pages and website.

The church is located in Rapodile in KwaThema.
