Stolen car recovered in Alexandra

Suspects then drove off towards 5th Avenue, leaving with the victim’s car, bank cards and driver’s licence.

A man was hijacked by two armed men shortly after coming from the bank on Monday morning.

Springs Police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the victim had just gotten into his car at the parking lot of The Avenues shopping centre when he heard the sound of a vehicle coming from behind.

When the man turned to look at what was happening, he saw two suspects each armed with a gun standing next to the passengers and driver’s side of his car.

The suspect standing closest to him, pulled out his gun and ordered the man to get out of the car.

The suspect on the passenger’s side then searched the victim and took the R300 in cash the man had on him.

The car was later recovered in Alexandra.
