The programme will start on October 7.

They have selected nine colleges from South Africa, a college per province.

For the Gauteng province, the East college is the one selected for the training programme.

Happy Sibande, college principal, states that this opportunity will contribute to the growth and development of the institution.

“It is about development on college management as there are concerns that TVET colleges are performing poorly.

“This is part of the department’s turnaround strategy of assisting TVET colleges to improve quality service delivery.

“Among those strategies, they have identified development of management and leadership,” says Sibande.

“The work we are going to do will come highly beneficial for our students in terms of improving skills development and ensuring quality education for all.

“I am very pleased and thankful to everyone who has contributed to this,” says Nevhutanda.
