SAPS crack down on Duduzza

“The rest of the arrests were as a result of detectives tracing the whereabouts of the alleged suspects,” he explains.

Duduza – 36 people were arrested last weekend for various crimes in Duduza.

The arrests came as a result of a number of operations that were done by different police disciplines and other law enforcement agencies in the area.

Duduza police spokesperson, Sgt Harry Manaka says at least 10 of the arrest were as a result of police actions.

“These cases were not reported but were as a result of police initiatives.

“About eight arrests were from cases reported, where police responded swiftly.

“The rest of the arrests were as a result of detectives tracing the whereabouts of the alleged suspects,” he explains.

Speaking after the arrests, the Duduza SAPS station commander Lt Col Bheki Mhlungu says the arrests are credited to the hard work and good coordination between various departments within the station.

“All arrested suspects will appear in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court during the course of the week,” he says.

He encouraged the officers to always prioritise the safety of the community within the prescripts of the law.
