Local teams are ready for league games

"The process of applying meant verifying their identities with Home Affairs but we have finally registered all of them and are ready to kick-start the league,” he says.

KwaThema – Local soccer teams tested their skills and readiness for the big match during the friendly games at KwaThema Sports Complex last Saturday.

The teams were preparing for the upcoming local league games which will kick-start this Saturday.

Valencia FC locked horns with Springs Home Sweepers but lost 2-1 in the second half.

Nkele Shinning Bees FC lashed Gopolang Focus FC in a 3-2 win.

Springs Local Football Association (SLFA) technical adviser Mkhonza Mkhonzana says he is happy that the teams are ready to bring their A game in the upcoming season.

Local teams are ready to fight for the number one position in the Springs Local Football Association (SLFA) league.

“The players showed dedication and fitness on the pitch which they will need to improve their chances of being crowned league champions.

“We want more players and teams from this community to move to the regional leagues,” he explains.

Mkhonzana said they had small challenges in registering all the teams and players within the local league at MYSAFA, but managed to get it done.

“This will ensure our players are scouted by professional teams both nationally and internationally.
