Pholosong Hospital employee arrested for fraud

He was arrested for presenting a fraudulent Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) as a valid and genuine document to his supervisor.

Tsakane – A 59-year-old employee at Pholosong Hospital responsible for transporting goods and staff members was arrested by EMPD Monitoring and Evaluation and Community Liaison Unit members on Thursday.

He was arrested for presenting a fraudulent Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) as a valid and genuine document to his supervisor.

This was after his supervisor alerted the police about their suspicions about the authenticity of the certificate.

EMPD spokesperson Supt Wilfred Kgasago says the suspect refused to reveal the identities of a person or people who produced the fake document.

“It emerged during the preliminary investigations that the fake PrDP was printed on a stolen face value document.

“He was locked up at Tsakane Police Station and charged with fraud by false representation and is expected to appear in the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court.

“In-depth investigations are underway in an effort to reveal the source of the fake document as well the person or people involved,” he says.
