Two convicted of murder

The attempted murder occurred on June 30, 2018, at 9pm at 46 Mashiane Street, KwaThema, where two victims were stabbed with a knife. Both victims were rushed to hospital and one later died in hospital.

KwaThema – Two men have been found guilty of murder and attempted murder.

The attempted murder occurred on June 30, 2018, at 9pm at 46 Mashiane Street, KwaThema, where two victims were stabbed with a knife.

Tsakane police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu says the convicted suspects are Nkabinde Seth Motha (65) and Seiso Welbeloved Motaung (36).

They were sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment each.

“The sentence came after the hard work and dedication of investigation by Tsakane SAPS officer Det Const Thabang Mosiwa Selemela, who now serves under the Violent Crimes Unit.

“He gathered all the information he needed for justice to take its course.

“The SAPS will always enforce every law in the Constitution to protect the rights of all citizens.

“It is our obligation to bring all the perpetrators before a court of law and investigate for justice to be reached,” she says.

The station commander of KwaThema SAPS, Col Mareketle Thobejane welcomed and congratulated Selemela for the hard work in securing the verdict that was posed by the Springs Magistrate’s Court recently.

Thobejane says the message to be noted by all perpetrators is that murder is a serious crime and the guilty will never get of light.
