Local rapper’s music video to play on MTV Base

“I chose KwaThema to be the location of the video because it is my hometown and I wanted my introduction to the mainstream music industry to have something that represents me and where I come from.”

KwaThema – KwaThema rapper Leago ‘EeQue TheDreama’ Moganedi is releasing a video for his single, KgaliKgali, which will play on MTV Base.

The song features South African Music Awards (Sama) nominated rapper Bonginkosi ‘KidX’ Mahlangu, someone Eeque TheDrama has been following closely.

“I met KidX a number of times at some shows and he started following me on social media.

“After listening to a few of my songs, he sent me a message saying that he wants to work with me and the rest is history,” he says.

The video was shot in KwaThema, Moganedi’s hometown.

“Many videos that depict the township are shot in Soweto.

“I chose KwaThema to be the location of the video because it is my hometown and I wanted my introduction to the mainstream music industry to have something that represents me and where I come from,” he explains.

The video shows people having fun in the township and was shot by Springs local Zane Mhlanga.

“It was important for me to work with Zane, not only because we have been working on music together since we were young, but also because it is important to show that the East Rand has potential too,” he says.

The video for KgaliKgali, which has been downloaded 655 times, will start playing on the music channel this week.
