Man shot dead outside local store

Tsakane – A 58-year-old man was shot and killed while delivering stock at a tuckshop on corner Nhlabathi and Namo streets, Tsakane, on

Saturday afternoon.

Tsakane police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu says on the day of the incident, sector police were dispatched to the area where the shooting took place.

“The man was declared dead by the paramedics at the scene.

“It is alleged the deceased was delivering the stock at one of the tuckshops at Namo Street.

“Just as he was done offloading the stock, he noticed two suspicious men. He tried to warn the shop owner to lock the store doors.”

Mngomezulu says when the suspects were unable to gain entry into the store, they then fired at the man.

“They fled the scene on foot to the next street where they drove off in a Honda,” she explains.

Tsakane SAPS station commander Col Johannes Maass is appealing to the community to work with the police in order to bring the perpetrators to book.
