Ace Auto Ayoba has space for u-19 team

“We believe it is not fair to give the young player an hour to prepare themselves before the selection process.”

KwaThema- Ace Auto Ayoba Academy is encouraging young soccer players aged between the ages of 16 to 18 interested in joining their u-19 soccer team to attend their upcoming trials.

The hopefuls will have an opportunity to practice with the team for a period of two weeks as part of the assessment.

Those interested can attend the trials at the Legacy Grounds in Extension Two from 3pm on February 1.

Coach and founder of the academy, Innocent Mayoyo, says they decided to hold the trials because they no longer have boys to play in the u-19 team.

“Last year the team won the u-19 Ekurhuleni Regional League but most of the players were u-15.

“We now want to build an u-19 team while grooming the other players for the u-17 team.

“Through the selection of the players during the trials we will be able to build a stronger u-19 team,” he says.

The soccer legend says those interested must be prepared to go through a two weeks intense training and a selection process with the team.

“We believe it is not fair to give the young player an hour to prepare themselves before the selection process.

“We want to make sure that we give them enough opportunity with the coaches and see how they will interact with other players on the pitch.

“Because we are an academy grooming young people not only in soccer but also aimed at developing them socially to help them to become leaders we need to identify the players through a long process,” he says.
