The traffic lights at one of the intersections were also damaged overnight.

“There are a few cases that have been opened and the police will be doing a thorough investigation,” says Ramphora.

The Addie has heard rumours of a meeting scheduled between the community and management from the coal company but we have not been able to confirm this as the company did not respond to our requests for comment.
